Cannot send e-mail in Bridge-IT using a Microsoft 365 account


Cannot send e-mail in Bridge-IT using a Microsoft 365 account.


If you have setup Bridge-IT to send emails via your Microsoft 365 account and you’re receiving errors when trying to SEND emails, this is most likely caused by SMTP AUTH being disabled on your mailbox.

To fix this please follow these steps…

  1. Open the Microsoft 365 admin centre and go to Users > Active users
  2. Select the user, and in the flyout that appears, click Mail
  3. Under “Email apps”, click Manage email apps
  4. Find “Authenticated SMTP
  5. If it is ticked then UNTICK it and click SAVE CHANGES (yes, you must do this!)
  6. Then go back to that setting and tick “Authenticated SMTP“ again.
  7. Click Save changes

All being well, you should now be able to send emails from Bridge-IT without the SMTP authentication problem.
